returns to scale of dmus by interval inputs and outputs in data envelopment analysis (dea)
Authors
abstract
the basic models of data envelopment analysis (dea) are designed in such a way that the values of input and output indicators should be identified and known in them. in other words, these models are not used to consider inaccurate, interval, fuzzy, judgment data. in this paper, the aim is to not only review the past researches about the efficiency of the units by interval data and represent their strengths and weaknesses, but also develop a method for determining returns to scale for interval units.

Classifying inputs and outputs in interval data envelopment analysis
Data envelopment analysis (DEA) is an approach to measure the relative efficiency of decision-making units with multiple inputs and multiple outputs using mathematical programming. In the traditional DEA, it is assumed that we know the input or output role of each performance measure. But in some situations, the type of performance measure is unknown. These performance measures are called flexi...

This paper proposes an alternative approach for efficiency analysis when a set of DMUs uses interval scale variables in the productive process. To test the influence of these variables, we present a general approach of deriving DEA models to deal with the variables. We investigate a number of performance measures with unrestricted-in-sign interval and/or interval scale variables.

Data envelopment analysis (DEA) is an effective method to evaluate the relative efficiency of decision-making units (DMUs). In one hand, the DEA models need accurate inputs and outputs data. On the other hand, in many situations, inputs and outputs are volatile and complex so that they are difficult to measure in an accurate way. The conflict leads to the researches of uncertain DEA models. Thi...

The basic assumption in data envelopment analysis patterns (DEA) (such as the CCR andBCC models) is that the value of data related to the inputs and outputs is a precise andpositive number, but most of the time in real conditions of business, determining precisenumerical value is not possible in for some inputs or outputs. For this purpose, differentmodels have been proposed in DEA for imprecis...

In this paper, weak defining hyperplanes and the anchor points in DEA, as an important subset of the set of extreme efficient points of the Production Possibility Set (PPS), are used to construct unobserved DMUs and in the long run to improve the envelopment of all observed DMUs. There has been a surge of articles on improving envelopment in recent years. What has been done first is in Constant...
